The Valley of flowers trek.

The valley of flowers backpacking trek is LAFL’s most preferred trips in the Uttarakhand region of the Himalayas.

The Valley of Flowers National Park, located at an altitude of 3800 meters in the West Himalayan area of Uttarakhand. It is a photographers’ paradise with its meadows of endemic alpine flowers and a variety of flora and fauna. Part of the famous Nanda Devi Hemisphere, the Valley of Flowers is a World Heritage site. It is a unique amalgamation of herbal and scenic secrets of the valley. Its full of rare and endangered animals, pheasant and high altitude birds, and many more surprises.

This trek starts from Govind ghat and is around 13kms to reach the base village of Ghangaria (3500mtrs).  Its a gradual ascend to Ghangaria. From there its around 8 kms trek into the Valley of Flowers. There is a route from Ghangaria which goes to Hemkund Sahib, a religious place for the Sikhs.
There whole route from Govind Ghat to Ghangaria is full of pilgrims and lots of eateries.

This place has floral pastures, running streams and beautiful backdrop of the mountains. What say !!!

Day 1 - Report at railway station in Mumbai

we take  a direct train to Haridwar from Mumbai Bandra terminus or Lokmanya tilak terminus , the train approx take 25 hrs to reach

Day 2 - Haridwar to Govindghat (Approx 8 hours)

• Leave early morning by private bus to Govindghat . The bus ride marks the beginning of an adventure waiting to unfold • Spend the night at a hotel

Day 3 - Govindghat to Ghangaria (8kms Trek)

• After an early breakfast , leave by local vehicle for Pulna and start your trek k to Ghangaria • Reach Ghangaria by late afternoon • Spend the night at a hotel

Day 4 - The D-Day – Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers (6kms Trek)

• After an early breakfast and packed lunch, leave for the Valley of Flowers trek (3km on each side) • Trekking at a height of 3342-3658 mtrs., enjoy the rare beauty of the Himalayan fauna at its best • Return to Ghangaria by evening and overnight stay in a hotel

Day 5 - Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib Trek (6 kms Trek)

•Morning we trek to Hemkund Sahib (4,329 m) from Ghangaria. This is quite a steep climb. In the Sikh holy book, The Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh Guru Gobind Singh recounts that in a previous life, he meditated on the shores of a lake surrounded by seven snowcapped mountains now recognized as Hemkund. • Spend the night at a hotel in Ghangaria

Day 6- Ghangaria to Pulna trek (8 kms Trek)

• After an early breakfast and packed lunch, start the descend to Govind ghat • Spend the night at a hotel in Govind ghat

Day 7 - Govind ghat to Haridwar

• A return bus ride from Govindghat to Hardwar and stay at Haridwar for the night.

• Catch a morning train  from Hardiwar to Mumbai  .
